Marquette Catholic School in Bellevue had a jean day and a bake sale.  They raised over $1500.00!

Ms. Carol Feller’s 5th grade class at St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Bellevue, IA donated $200.00.

The total donations of the Bellevue, Iowa Schools was $5300.00 !

On behalf of all the board members and volunteers of ServeHAITI, a huge thank you to all the students and supporters at The University of Iowa, St. Paul’s Catholic School, Bellevue Elementary, Middle and High Schools and Marquette Catholic School.  You are helping to make a huge difference in the lives of the residents of Grand Bois,  Haiti.

Delta Sigma Pi University of Iowa

Delta Sigma Pi, a professional fraternity at the University of Iowa, hosted a “Date Auction” on 2/24/10 to raise monies for ServeHAITI.  Ashley Schulz, niece of Liz McDermott and Cindy Broders (Iowa), was a key coordinator for these events.

Members of various organizations at the university were auctioned off at the event with some bids reaching $120.00.
Phi Alpha Delta, a pre-law fraternity on campus was the leader in raising money.  Proceeds from the auction exceeded $1200.00.  The event was held at Brother’s Bar & Grill in Iowa City, who graciously donated use of their facilities.

Thank you Ashley, and the University of Iowa Hawkeyes for your hard work on behalf of ServeHAITI.

St. Paul's Catholic School

Another fundraiser, sponsored by St. Paul Catholic School in Davenport, Iowa, was spearheaded by Lynn Leming, a teacher at St. Paul’s and Ann Froeschle, also a niece of Liz McDermott & Cindy Broders.

Change was collected in each classroom and at Masses.  The students also sponsored “The Biggest Bake Sale Ever” to raise funds.

A student organized concert was held at The River Music Connection in Davenport, who donated the use of their venue.  The event was hosted by the Myers Brothers and other musicians who all donated their talents to help ServeHAITI.

All of this could not have been accomplished without the  many supportive adults and community leaders in and around Davenport.  In all, $11,000.00 was raised.

These same tireless students will be hosting a dance and collecting school supplies to be used for ServeHAITI’s June trips to Grand Bois.  These 2 weeks will focus on education and teacher training
